I LOVE letters. Maybe it's because I used to teach elementary school. Or, maybe it's because I have a lot to say (but my family gets tired of listening to me talk all the time). For whatever the reason, I LOVE letters. So, I started my typography signs as a way of getting all those letters out of my system.
My name is Barbara and I am a sporadic crafter! I love to do all sorts of crafts and try and dabble in everything from wood cutting to crocheting and I even needle felt when the mood strikes me. One thing I haven't stop doing is making wooden mushrooms. I personally love mushrooms and enjoy making them. They are not only my signature item but they are an original creation of mine.

I started off throwing pots specifically aimed at needs I had around the home – a tea set, a vase for my window, a jar for my paintbrushes… you get the idea. Creating things for my own use became a means of learning and, unbeknownst to me at the time, began shaping my philosophy towards pottery: Always beautiful, always useful.

Fired at temperatures above 2000 degrees F, my collection of pottery is stoneware. MG Clay Works is also the home of the original "Animals In My Soup" handmade animal bowl series! Featured animal bowls are great for kids of all ages and those young at heart! Your pet might want one too! I have been designing and crafting the pens for about 8 years but did most of my exhibiting at juried Craft Shows and private exhibits. I opened the web store in September 2010 as a leap forward melding the old handcraft of woodworking with the technology of instant worldwide communications. I create many unique and one of a kind designs and styles. The “Compound Spiral Rope Twist” is one of my unique designs and I have not seen it duplicated by another pen maker. The “Single Spiral Rope Twist” design is used by several other pen makers but, we all produce these in limited quantities to preserve their rareness. I am always adding new items to the shop, so stop in frequently to see whats new. Custom made orders are always welcome. Your comments are always graciously appreciated as well.
